Fugitive glue is commonly known as credit card glue or “booger glue”. So where do the informal names come from? Simple. When you receive your new Visa or Discover card in the mail, the thin strip of glue you find attached to your new card is what fugitive glue is aka credit card glue. This glue is easily peeled off the surface to which it is bonded with. It forms a very strong bond that can be released once the bond it broken. Fugitive glues are often used in marketing applications for direct mailer campaigns. This easy-to-use glue is safe to handle

•ETHYLENE-VINYL ACETATE ADHESIVES

Hot melt adhesives are the most popular, and widely used types of industrial adhesives currently available in today’s market. Hot melt adhesives are polymer based, and are thermoplastic in nature, meaning they are solid at room temperature. These adhesives do not utilize water, or solvents in order to acquire their adhesive properties, which allows them a very fast set time, a long shelf life, and functionality in a wide range of temperatures

EVA based adhesives still provide the greatest range of products for "difficult to bond" substrates. Where other formulated adhesives fall short, EVA based adhesives are specifically formulated to adhere to waxes, recycled paper stock and various aqueous coatings.

• Easily available in many forms; dots, strips, liquid  •Generally safe to handle
•Always removable with virtually no surface damage
•Instant bond  •Easy clean up  •Wide variety of tack levels

Pressure-sensitive hot melt adhesives are thermoplastic rubber-based adhesives. They are characterised by the fact that they do not fully set, instead remaining permanently sticky. This allows for an excellent adhesive bond even when the glue is cold. In this case, the required contact pressure is the key to creating a sufficient coat between the contact adhesive and the joined part, which is why this group of adhesives is also referred to as “PSA – pressure-sensitive adhesives”

Hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives are a unique class of bonding materials used in a wide range of industrial applications and consumer products. While solid at room temperature, these adhesives melt readily, providing free-flowing liquids which can be dispensed to the target bonding site in a precisely-controlled manner. Upon cooling, hot melts solidify to rapidly form strong bonds between two substrates.

POLYAMIDE

Amorphous Poly-Alpha-Olefin (APAO / APO) bulk hot melt is a non-crystalline adhesive that is soft, tacky and flexible. APAO hot melts offer a long open time from 30 seconds to 4 minutes. Their low polarity makes them ideal for bonding polyolefin substrates like PP (polypropylene), PE (polyethylene) and PET (polyethylene terephthalate) along with non-woven materials. APAO bulk hot melt offers a higher heat resistance and increased fuel, acid or chemical resistance compared to an EVA hot melt. APAO adhesives offer a better adhesion in low temperatures than a EVA. Many APAO hot melt adhesives are sprayable, which allow you to cover a large area without a problem, great for product assembly applications.

PUR

PUR Hot Melts are more expensive than traditional EVA hot melts (2-4X) however application rates are much lower. PUR is clear, less of it needed to create a solid bond. PUR glues are an excellent choice when bonding difficult substrates when immediate tack is needed, especially in certain bookbinding applications where traditional animal glues are not the correct product for the specific binding process.

PUR glues have to be left to cure for 24 hours. PUR glue bonds occur when the chemicals in the glue draw moisture out of the air; technically making PUR glues a moisture-curing glue product. PUR glues are incredibly strong and flexible and work beautifully as a book binding glue on difficult binding applications. The result is a strong, long-lasting bond even on difficult to bind substrates.
