EMRALON® TW-020: (Water Based, Flexible Fluoropolymer Coating)
Emralon® TW-020 is one of a series of Acheson resin-bonded lubricant coatings designed to provide dry film lubrication and release properties in a variety of industrial and original equipment automotive applications.

Emralon® TW-020 is especially well suited to protect EDPM rubber from glass abrasion in automotive window channel applications. It is also effectively utilized for protection of door seals, providing ice release and general seal protection characteristics. Emralon® TW-020 is found to be an excellent solution for applications requiring squeak suppression. This product is formulated to eliminate the need for primers or surfacepretreatment for most substrates. Use of a primer or surface pretreatment willhowever usually improve adhesion.

Emralon® TW-020 is a two-component, water-based, resin-bonded, fluoropolymer coating designed to be applied onto hot rubber. It can also be applied onto thermoplastics and cured via IR heat. The cured coating is black in appearance, flexible, excellent in wear resistance, effective in suppressing squeak & itch. It is also non-abrasive to painted surfaces.

Application Details
Mixing: Emralon® TW-020 is a two component coating. Mix only the amount of coating to be usedwithin 12 to 24 hours. Mix Emralon® TW-020 to insure uniformity and then slowly blendcomponent "C" into mixing component "A" (5 parts by weight of component "C" into 95 parts byweight of component "A"), mixing 15 minutes before use. To avoid foaming, do not use high-speed mixers or shakers.

Application: Emralon® TW-020 is designed to be spray applied in-line to hot rubber extrusions, molded parts, or films with a surface temperature of 225°-300°F (107°-150°C). When coating warm (100°-150°F/38°-66ƒ°C) parts, a primer should not be necessary.

Cure: Typical Cure Schedules:
  • > 3 minutes @ 350°F (177°C)
  • < 5 minutes @ 300°F (149°C)
